The Evansville Community Tennis Association is pleased to announce the 2012 Junior Male and Female Player of the Year

Sean Carroll - Male Player of the Year
Sean Carroll is currently a junior at Evansville Day School. Sean has been ranked as high as 58 this fall by the USTA Midwest Section ranking/standing list in Boy’s 16 singles and as high as 22 in Boy’s 16 Doubles in the USTA Midwest Section. Sean was selected to compete on three Midwest Zone Teams (One of 20 boys representing the Midwest section in a National Competition) 2009 in Alabama, 2010 in Kalamazoo MI, and 2012 in St. Louis. He is currently ranked #7 in the State of Indiana for his recruiting class by “Tennis Recruiting.”Sean received a “USTA Midwest Sportsmanship Award” for the Boys 16 division in May 2012, as well as winning the B-16 Doubles Title at a Midwest level 3 in Michigan. Sean played #1 Doubles at Memorial High School in the fall of 2010 earning the following honors: First Place SIAC at #1 Doubles, First Team All District Doubles, Honorable Mention All-State Doubles, and All-City Academic. Sean Played #1 Singles for Evansville Day School in the fall of 2012. He was named to the First Team All District Singles and Honorable Mention All-State Singles. Sean was the team’s MVP and Kiwanis Award Winner for 2012. Sean has been a strong volunteer for the ECTA Middle School Tennis Programs, helping promote Middle School Tennis for both Boys & Girls at several schools the past few years. In addition, Sean competes on the Academic Bowl Team and is active in the Key Club (Treasurer), and International Club at Evansville Day School. Sean is looking forward to College Tennis!

Rachel Bottorff - Female Player of the Year
Rachel Bottorff is a senior at Castle High School. Rachel has played #1 Singles for Castle her sophomore and Junior year.
Rachel has been the team’s Most Valuable Player all
three seasons. She received the Kiwanis Award in the spring of 2012. Rachel was named to the All District Team Singles in the spring of 2010 and Honorable Mention All State in the spring of 2010. She was named to the first team All-District in the spring of 2011 and 2012, as well as being selected for Second Team All-State Singles in 2011 and 2012. Rachel is currently ranked 13 in her recruiting class for the State of Indiana in Singles by “Tennis Recruiting.” Rachel recently won the Girl’s 18’s division Singles title at the Tri-State Athletic Club Thanksgiving Classic. Rachel has been an active member of the “Fellowship of Christian Athletes.” Rachel was named to the National Honor Society. In addition she has been a member of the Castle Band, and the Castle Student Council the past four years, currently serving as student council vice-president. Rachel is looking forward to collegiate tennis ahead!

Bobs Gym and Evansville Tennis Center Affiliation Announced
Bob’s Gym members now have the opportunity to become members of the Evansville Community Tennis Association at a discounted rate for both organizations.
Membership in ECTA allows access to the brand-new, state of the art Evansville Tennis Center and its 6 indoor courts. Membership in ECTA also includes access to personal and private tennis coaching, locker room access, and the top leagues and tournaments in the city.
In addition, Bob’s Gym members will be able to experience new, unique group exercise classes designed to take advantage of tennis in a way that will create an exciting and engaging workout. These classes will be taking place both at Bob’s locations and at ECTA facilities, and more details will come as time progresses.

ECTA Tennis Professional Needed!
ECTA us looking for a USPTA certified pro to help open and grow the new six indoor court facility.
- Needs to be comfortable teaching both adults and juniors of all levels (beginner to high performance).
- Will be responsible for teaching/supervising assigned special club programs and special events such as
tournaments, leagues, USTA 10 and under, cardio tennis, etc.
- Needs to have knowledge/experience with USTA ranking system and tournaments, equipment trends, and an
understanding of the NTRP rating system.
- Capable of stringing racquets.
- USPTA certified.
