Juniors

Welcome to the Evansville Tennis Center

Our certified staff has earned multiple coaching awards, worked with and developed players who have played college, high school and middle school tennis. Our coaches have helped produce some of Evansville’s best tennis players. Many of whom have achieved high Midwest and National rankings.

Evansville Tennis Centers offers several classes for the beginner, intermediate and advanced junior at both of our facilities- Wesselman Park and Evansville Tennis Center. Classes for the advanced juniors are typically held outdoors during warmer months to prepare for tournament play, while most of our beginner and intermediate classes are held indoors.

Come join our  programs and see first hand the improvements your child will make to their game as they continue to develop a love for the game of tennis. Our experienced staff will not only instruct and continue to work with the players, but they will also prepare them for the next level and class.

12 and Under Tennis

Learn, Play, Have Fun and Improve

For the 12 and under player, they will be taught important stroke and footwork fundamentals with a focus on ball tracking and striking skills. As the young player progresses through the 10 and Under classes, they will continue to learn more advanced skills such as open stance footwork, variations of spin, and point play strategies. Players will also be asked to take on more responsibility for their own equipment such as racquets, water, shoes etc.

High School Classes

Train And Prepare For The Next Season

Each year, several of the local schools are competing for a State Championship or a conference title. It all begins somewhere and that somewhere is here at the Evansville Tennis Center. Just as the community supports local players and their teams, we too support the players through our High School level and age appropriate classes. Whether you are trying to make the team as a first year player, or continue to be a key member to the teams success we have the class for you. Several of our former players have earned individual accolades, All-State honors, and even a few trips to the State Finals as both an individual and team.

Tournaments

Compete and Play

Tournament play can be fun and challenging for any player of any level. ETC hosts more tournaments than any other facility nearby. Our commitment to competitive play starts with Youth Progression. Nearly once a month there is a 10 and Under event to help introduce the competitive structure and rules for the young player. As the players mature and improve we also host Midwest events that attract several local and out of town players. We host one nearly every season. Lastly, we are the only facility in the Tri-State to host an elevated (higher level) Midwest tournament and multiple USTA National Junior Tournaments.

Middle School Classes

Train, Compete, Have Fun with Teammates

In conjunction with the local Middle School Program, ETC offers year long classes for the enthusiastic player. Our JR High Quick Start class is a great fast pace introduction to tennis. This class is sure to get the young player ready to join the team next season. If you have an experienced player at home, we also offer our Advanced Competition class. Advanced Competition is great for the more competitive JR High and High School player. These players have been on the court for quite some time and are ready for a new challenge.

High Performance

Tournament Players and Future College Players!

Our High Performance classes are designed to ensure players are with their competitive and goal-minded peers. The 12 and Under players continue to learn advanced skill sets, balancing a tournament schedule, and becoming more accountable and responsible for their own tennis. Players over the age of 12 are consistently adding skills to their game. The improving never stops as many are traveling throughout the Midwest and Country to compete in tournaments. Players are held accountable for their attitude, work ethic, sportsmanship and desire to improve.

Player and Parent Resources

Help Keep Tennis Fun and Competitive

Parents play a vital role in developing a young tennis player. We encourage all parents to stay informed on how they can help  their child’s development, and stay up to date with changes in tennis.

As players develop so too does their maturity and responsibilities on and off the court. Players typically thrive setting goals and adding new dimensions to their game.
